SENIOR DIRECTOR, CONTRACTS AND PROPOSALS

VeraSci is a company located in Durham that specializes in enabling clinical trials research through advanced technologies and neurocognitive measurement.  We combine innovative science and technology to advance and improve the clinical trials process for many leading pharmaceutical companies.  We are searching for a Senior Director of Contracts and Proposals to help with the accurate preparation of client contracts and proposals in the clinical trials industry.

Requirements include:

  • Serve as the day to day point of contact for review and negotiation of standard and non-standard contracts; liaison with the CEO, President, Finance and other teams within the organization to accommodate internal and external changes to standard terms and conditions to efficiently close a mutually acceptable contract
  • Analyze proposals to determine contract terms required, both standard and non-standard
  • Understand the database of contract terms and client contract templates used by the team to ensure consistency of terms and conditions
  • Develop a broad knowledge of the company products and services through the review and preparation of agreements, as well as formal and informal learning opportunities
  • Prepare client statements of work, amendments and other client correspondence as needed under supervision while identifying potential risks associated with terms and conditions to minimize risk(s) for the company
  • Communicate any contract concerns to company senior management
  • Manage work load to ensure internal/external client performance expectations are met; proactively engage business team to complete contract renewal cycle
  • Leverage business experience utilizing business acumen to identify solutions to address client concerns while aligning to company business objectives
  • Identify and assist in the implementation/communication of contracting efficiencies, as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent and a minimum of three years of previous sales, proposals and budgets work experience
  • Understanding of VeraSci’s data, services and technology is a plus
  • Strong business acumen; ability to exercise good business judgement
  • Collaboration with contracts administration colleagues and maintaining good working relationships with internal clients
  • Time management skills; ability to handle high volume requests are critical
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to learn quickly and project management experience is a plus
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ability to consistently produce a high quality work product under tight deadlines
  • Understanding of the clinical space and Pharma generated RFPs
